Overview

Benham, a Haskell Company is seeking a Transportation Design Engineer in Oklahoma City, OK or Tulsa, OK.

In this role, you will be responsible for the production of innovative, appropriate, cost-effective designs, drawings, and specifications. Professional Engineers must maintain license and sign/seal documents prepared under your supervision. Engineer Interns must be eligible for Professional Engineer licensure within 12 months.

Job Responsibilities:

    Participates in project strategy meetings within the discipline, develops design concepts and recommends systems, produces pricing and proposal presentation documents, and outlines specifications.
  • Responsible for the production of well-organized, finished drawings of good appearance, accuracy, clarity, and correctness.
  • Coordinates work with other disciplines. Performs interdisciplinary coordination checks to minimize deficiencies, errors, and omissions in drawings and specifications.
  • Assists Construction Project Managers, Superintendents, and Subcontractors in the interpretation and clarification of construction documents and response to requests for information.
  • Directs technical efforts of discipline interns, designers, technicians, and subordinate engineers assigned to the project.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 12 months

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:

  • Working knowledge of Microstation, OpenRoads, and/or InRoads

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
