HDR is seeking self-starter candidates for our Denver or Fort Collins office with an entrepreneurial drive, good communication, organizational and writing skills, and a strong passion for working with people on wastewater infrastructure projects. The technical focus of this position is on wastewater treatment and process design.

The primary responsibilities of the position include supporting the design of wastewater treatment related projects for federal, state and local municipalities and industrial clients. This position will require production of design calculations, technical reports, and preparation of construction documents. The role includes:

  • Creating detailed designs of wastewater treatment systems, distribution systems and collection systems under instruction from the Project Engineer.
  • Preparing plans for wastewater systems, calculations, writing specifications, analysis and study-level reports for wastewater treatment and collection systems, determining appropriate design methods, equipment sizing and selection and working directly with the owner.
  • Conducts quality control reviews of completed designs.
  • Should be familiar with wastewater treatment processes and technologies.
  • Flexible location in either our Denver or Fort Collins office.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering ro related engineering field
  • EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
  • Interest or experience designing water/wastewater treatment facilities
  • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS preferred
  • 1 years of experience designing and creating plans and specifications for wastewater projects.
  • Internship in the field.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
  • Business development experience
