The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a reliable and diligent Kitting Quality Inspector with a mindset of Quality first, continual improvement, and customer satisfaction.
You will have the opportunity to oversee in-process verification attributes, final inspection and release procedures for assembly and manufacturing practices at the facility. This role will be a full-time position, Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm, based out of our Buford, Georgia facility.
The team
The Manufacturing Quality Business Unit comprises the Quality Control staff at Avantor. By completing kit assembly, lot reviews, inspections, error detection, and product release, this team makes sure that every department at the Buford site maintains quality and integrity.
What we're looking for
Education: High School completion or equivalent (GED) preferred
Experience: Minimum 1 year of work experience
Language: Must be able to communicate in English. Can grasp the main ideas of long blocks of text or conversation even when abstract concepts or some irregular language is applied. Verbal and written communication is clear, varied and nuanced over a range of topics.
Collaboration Tool: Basic computer skills using software systems (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams)
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of work experience
Previous experience as a quality control or manufacturing worker
Experience in a regulated field (such as aerospace, medical devices, or Computer Numercial Control (CNC) machines)

Inspects all labeling and packing of completed kit assemblies, conducts kit inspection
Inspections of kit components and complete first article inspections
Guarantees the regular application of quality control methods and procedures required for an effective and compliant product inspection
Examines kit assemblies to find any materials that do not comply
When mistakes are found, the kit is either manually corrected or sent back to the production team; all faults are tracked and documented
As instructed by the Quality Handbook, carry out acceptance sampling procedures for labeling, in-process, shipping, and receiving inspections as well as final inspections
Carry out acceptance attribute sampling procedures for the kit's components and packaging, and accurately and completely record the results
Keep track of and record any assembly errors
Review batch records to ensure they follow best practices and comply with good documentation
Complies with company policies, procedures, work instructions and training requirements
Fulfills obligations in accordance with the Quality Manual and any relevant laws (cGMP, MDD, and SOPS)
Conducts attribute inspection tasks to evaluate whether the kit, its parts, or the shipping packages are acceptable; records the findings
Reviews the assembly lot and sends the Manager or Supervisor the necessary paperwork
Informs colleagues and other staff members at the line level to follow and abide by relevant regulations
Palletizes, packs, stages, and/or physically divides accepted kits and sent orders
Helps to maintain a clean, clutter-free, well-organized workspace for production
Carries out additional tasks as given
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
Ability to work alone with minimal supervision
Ability to interpret specifications and parameters
Ability to complete simple forms and identify accept and reject criteria
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)
Usually, the manufacturing floor is thermostatically managed to maintain a comfortable temperature, with sufficient lighting, ventilation, and occasionally loud surroundings.
May work a portion and/or the entirety of the day in a general warehouse environment with adequate lighting and ventilation with occasional elevated noise levels and a varied range of temperatures.
There are a variety of work assignments. Workplace issues are resolved by referencing examples of prior performance. Problems could be solved with the development of new options.
A steady workload in accordance with the daily kit demands and deadlines.
The job position frequently demands walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, or maybe carrying objects weighing up to 30 lbs, therefore some medium-level physical exertion is necessary.
