Job Description

Join Ecolab as a Regulatory Specialist I - Toxicology in the North American Regulatory Affairs Team. This position is primarily responsible for providing toxicology support for Ecolab's commercial and innovation product portfolio across Ecolab's various business units.

This position may be located at an Ecolab campus in Naperville, IL, or Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN with a hybrid work model. A remote position may be considered if candidates are not located near Ecolab campus locations.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide toxicology support and technical guidance to assigned Ecolab business regarding product safety, stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
  • Address internal and external customer questions on the toxicology hazard and risk of Ecolab products.
  • Work proactively with cross-functional teams to ensure product safety and stewardship is considered early in the product development process.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to classify hazardous substances according to GHS and CLP.
  • Participate in internal Ecolab research- and business-related meetings and projects.
  • Interact with governmental agencies and non-governmental organizations regarding toxicology and related regulatory science.
  • Participate in industry-wide trade associations and technical workgroups to address regulatory issues impacting Ecolab's business.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in toxicology or related field (pharmacology, public health, biochemistry, etc)
  • Experience applying scientific skills and knowledge to address chemical safety questions.
  • Experience conveying technical information, both by written and oral communication, to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing tasks, deadlines, and changing priorities while working in a team environment.
  • No Immigration Sponsorship is available for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in Toxicology or related field (Pharmacology, Public Health, Biochemistry, etc)
  • Prior regulatory expertise with programs and agencies such as the U.S. EPA, FDA, OSHA and counterpart regulatory agencies outside the US.
  • Past participation in industry or trade association consortia addressing toxicology and regulatory issues.
  • Experience conducting human health and environmental hazard evaluations and risk assessments.
  • Ability to represent the company and influence policy in regulatory toxicology matters related to product safety and stewardship.
  • Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations involving product safety issues yet understand potential regulatory requirements and public relations issues.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to be collaborative and develop relationships amongst broad stakeholder groups.
