Position Summary

The Operations Manager will align a new facility with existing enterprise logistics standards as it grows to maturity, including daily operations, hiring/building a team and establishing a culture that makes us an employer of choice as well as manage and drive the process of continuous improvement for the administrative, warehouse/distribution, value added services/shop and/or transportation/delivery function to achieve the overall business results for assigned area(s) of responsibility. Ensure assigned function is operated in accordance with Andersen Corporation's values, employee covenant, and strategic direction. Actively develop supervisors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver agreed to results in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, costs, ramp-up capabilities, and employee satisfaction/development.
  • Define and communicate performance targets for safety, quality, delivery, costs, and employee engagement/ development with team. Hold team accountable to those targets.
  • Develop, implement, and support plans to provide process improvement in key areas defined above. Improvement initiatives will be aligned with AMS/lean/CI principles and our strategic plan.
  • Establish an environment conducive to high levels of engagement, morale, employee satisfaction, and performance based on the Andersen Enterprise Values and Vision.
  • Ensure alignment of activities and resources within the function and ensure cross-organization collaboration and employee involvement where appropriate.
  • Provide coaching, information, ideas, feedback and encouragement to employees and managers to promote the team's growth and development.
  • Be highly visible to employees, create a safe environment for participation and promote hands-on, high involvement approaches to problem solving.
  • Establish visual management techniques to manage the value stream

Must Have Qualifications

  • Four year degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of world-class (Lean, Safety, Quality, Manufacturing) and facilitate Kaizens.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities including the ability to work and motivate people.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Knowledge of technical aspects of transportation planning, commercial motor vehicle driver and equipment management.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%


Highly Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience establishing a new logistics operation or start-up distribution center experience
  • Modern day material management
  • Experience implementing and deploying Lean Six Sigma disciplines and tools to increase efficiencies and reduce waste


SALARY INFORMATION:

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. In addition to your pay, Andersen Corporation currently offers benefits such as comprehensive health benefits, 401k contribution, paid time off, 8 paid standard holidays, plus 2 floating holidays, a robust employee Wellbeing program, as well as profit sharing (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
